PALM
BEACH INLET - LAKE WORTH INLET PICTURES Photos Of The Lake Worth Ocean Inlet In West Palm Beach, Florida
The
Lake Worth Inlet (aka Palm Beach Inlet) is wide and deep.
Welcome to the Palm Beach Inlet
Pictures web page.
Thank you for visiting.
This web site features pictures
and general information for boaters interested in using the Lake
Worth Inlet in West Palm Beach, Florida. Information on this web site is
for general information purposes only and can not be used for
navigation.
The Lake Worth Inlet gets its name because it connects the Atlantic Ocean with a long inland
body of water called Lake Worth.
Lake Worth extends from southern Palm Beach County to the North Palm
Beach/Palm Beach Gardens area. Lake Worth can be thought of as
the Intracoastal Waterway area
in Palm
Beach County.
The Lake Worth Inlet is frequently called the "Palm Beach Inlet" because of its
location at the extreme northern end
of Palm Beach. The inlet is also close to West Palm Beach (and not that close
to the City of Lake Worth), so the name just
makes sense.
The Lake Worth - Palm Beach Inlet is wide and general easy to navigate.
It is well marked. It is regularly dredged to accommodate medium
sized cargo ships and cruise ships that use the Port Of Palm Beach.
For navigation assistance there is a range located on Peanut
Island (a man-made island located inshore immediately west of the
inlet.) When approaching the inlet from the sea, line up the two
large orange range markers by sight. When the two marks
are
aligned, you're traveling in the center
of the inlet's ship channel.
Watch for manatee speed
regulations once inside the inlet. Manatees will gather at
the nearby Riviera Beach Power Plant in the winter months.

This picture shows the Palm Beach
Inlet (Lake Worth Inlet). It
was taken facing east towards the
ocean. The jetty seen on the

of Palm Beach. The jetty
seen on
the left is part of Palm Beach Shores and Singer Island.
View from the inlet channel looking
south. Palm Beach ("The
Island") is seen on the right.
There is a diving spot just
south
of the Palm Beach Inlet.
View from
the inlet channel looking north.
The buildings and beach in the
foreground are located in Palm Beach
Shores on the very south end of
Singer Island.
The condo towers seen in the distance to the left
are located on Singer Island (Riviera
Beach) proper.
This picture was taken "inside" the
inlet looking south. There is
a small public boat dock
located on the extreme north side of Palm
Beach.
The dock marks the northernmost
point on the "Palm
Beach Lake Trail" recreation path for biking, running and
walking. Click here
for more pictures and information about the Palm Beach Lake Trail.
This picture was taken while at sea... looking
west into the
inlet. Peanut
Island is seen in the distance .
The area north of the Palm Beach Inlet is popular for
parasailing. Several West
Palm Beach parasailing companies serve
this area, which is just east of Singer Island.
There are plenty of things to see in the Palm Beach Inlet
area. Here are some other web pages you may want to explore:
